Description

The attractive cross - which is a typical minimally vaulted- ie. somewhat converse-shaped example - retains an attractive age-patina and/or nice, pronounced detail. This example - which is an evident- and/or: 'L/13'-marked specimen as was produced by the desirable maker: 'Paul Meybauer' based in the towns of Nürnberg and/or Berlin - comes naturally firmly mounted on its original- (and naturally unaltered and/or fully functional-) flute-shaped pin- and/or presumably period-repaired catch (-set-up). The cross - which is a magnetic example - shows a neatly 'blackened'- and/or fairly 'satin-like'- (ie. somewhat 'matted') inner-core that shows some minimal wear without showing any damage: it has, however, clearly been issued and/or worn and is still a bit stained and/or dirty (it was I deem never cleaned but only retains some of its polished sides ie. 'hochpolierte Kanten'). As stated above is the cross clearly 'L/13'-marked (visible on the back of the pin as is more often encountered). I deem that I have priced this repaired but still attractive and I deem somewhat later- ie. mid-war-period and neatly maker-marked 'Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse', accordingly!
