WW2 USMC Helmet With 1st Type Camouflage Cover .
Ships from: United Kingdom
A rare & exceptionally stunning helmet that shows clear signs of being together for a very long time . The helmet itself is a super swivel bale and typical of the later island hopping battles . The original factory paint is present with some staining etc . The cover has not been removed but lifting the flaps one can see that the cover and helmet show clear rust mirroring . The web straps have the attractive wartime flat bronze fixtures . The liner is the high pressure type marked with the Westinghouse trade mark . All elements remain including the nape strap and thin leather chinstrap . The originally mounted cover mostly termed 1st type is in wonderful battle worn condition with a lovely gold hue to the fade and as already mentioned rust spotting and edge staining that match this steel shell . Any WW2 USMC cover is hard to find even in the USA and the first type as here even more so !
