WW2 US Fixed Bale M1 With Early Transitional Liner .
Ships from: United Kingdom
An untouched full M1 set with original net.The outer shell dates from mid 1943 (684C marked) & is a Mccord version with much factory paint and texture still present . The chinstraps are good and solid with the stop gap flat iron alloy flat buckle that stopped in production by May 44. Hook is the early sharp milled tipped version . The high pressure liner is an interesting transitional piece having the cotton suspension fitted with female press studs to fit the earlier grey rayon 'Riddel' type tape . A very unusual feature is how this is held in place by Green treated steel A washers with the chinstrap brackets being the early fixed type ( strap now absent). To the liner helmet exterior is the early darker shade finish found on these early type composites . Over the helmets middle running front to back is an off white stripe being perhaps for a leadership role ? A combat used helmet with super patina in untouched condition
