Original period manufacture. German WWII Heer officers schirmmutze piped in the rare color of carmine, as worn by officers of the Veterinary and General Staff. The hat is not crushed or distorted, the visor is securely sewn, with bright aluminum eagle and wreath. There is a nicely done repair to a 4.5 inch mothing rent on the (wearer's) left side, with a single small mothbite on the piping. The liner shows wear as shown with some tearing in the imitation sweatband. Both the band and visor are securely sewn to the body of the hat. A nice looking example which displays really well.
