Members of the SS were chosen, amongst other things, for their physical attributes and prowess.Therefore you never find a short SS officers sword.However, THIS one is the longest I have ever owned or personally come across. Overall it measures 43' (that's 3'6'!) with a 37 1/4' blade. Massive. The owner would have been about 6'6'' tall. The Degen is in near mint condition and is the more common nickel plated types. Hilt are other plated parts are in super condition with no lifting and the top pommel unscrews to reveal the internal locking mechanism, nuts etc. Perfect black ebony grip with horizontal wire and SS button. Scabbard has 95% of the original factory black paint. Blade is plain with no markings and again in near mint condition. again very common with MOST SS swords. The white leather buffer is in place.
