US Pre WWI Souvenir American & Foreign Flag Grouping

Original period manufacture. Lot of five souvenir flags representing the USA, Spain, Cuba, Philippines and Imperial China. Each flag is made is made of silk, of multi-piece construction, all with hand embroidered devices. In the case of the American flag, it is a 48 star (1912) with individually hand sewn stripes and hand embroidered stars. Each flag measure roughly 15.5 x 9.75 inches, all with a coarse red silk covered reverse. The flags may represent the service of a US soldier or sailor, who's campaign experience included the Spanish-American War, Philippine Insurrection and Boxer Rebellion. Silk embroidered souvenirs were a popular souvenir of this era, many, if not all being produced in Japan. The colors are bright, the embroidery quality outstanding. Light age and wear. The flags are not sewn together.
