IGS 1895 With Punjab Frontier 1897-98 Clasp, 1914-15 trio & memorial plaqueTo- 2-LIEUT.R.J.P.COX.A&S.HIGHRS (IGS 1895)& MAJOR.R.J.P.COX.A&S.HIGHRS (Trio)Reginald John Ponsonby Cox was the son of Major & Mrs J.P.Cox of society house, South Queensferry.He served with the regiment during the campaign on the Punjab frontier 1897-98 & was serving as the 2/IC with 8th Gordon Highlanders at the battle of Loos when he was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 27-9-1915. He has a lengthy entry in the Marquis De Ruvigny's roll of honour & his fiancé paid for the erection of a very impressive memorial at Itchen Stoke church were her farther was the rector.The medals are GVF or better & the plaque has some minor verdigris spots to the surface. Complete with extensive military & biographical research documents.
