As the Third Reich police were under the direct control of Himmler and the SS, it's not surprising that there was some cross-over with items made for and used by the Police. The swords made for the Police officers by WKC are a case in point. As they have a large set of SS runes deeply stamped into the reverse riccasso with the WKC trademark on the other side.This makes these swords very desirable for collectors and actually they are quite rare. This is a very nice example with near perfect nickel plated fittings. Black ebony wood grip with police insignia deeply inset into the grip. There is an original large police portapee tied in the correct manner about the hilt. The scabbard is in excellent condition with all original paint and no damage. The blade is beautiful and in full mint condition. It has a proper blade buffer in white leather (again usually associated with SS swords).
