Thiel Mens Small Wrist Watch Working
Ships from: United States
Decent period German made men's wrist watch. No band included. Its does run and keep decent time. Thiel was a very popular 'every man's' watch of its era. It is no Swiss watch, just a cost effective sturdy solution. They frequently advertised in military publications. Thiel did make watches after the war for a short time before it was absorbed by communism. The back is marked with what looks like an R.B.Nr. and a 2 inside a triangle. These are both things that could date it from around 1943 to possibly the early 50's its really hard to say and information can be hard to find. I will error on the side of caution and say it is early post war, but identical to what would have been made during the war.Normally the triangle 2 would be a red flag that it was post war, but not here because it should be a triangle 1 if it was post war made in Germany; this makes the 2 an anomaly and more similar to some war time markings.
