This is neat - with certainty very unusual and just moderately used- ie. worn! - example of a beige/white-coloured- (and/or typical) printed-linnen-based 'Polizei' (ie. police-) related armband (ie. 'Armbinde') entitled: 'Stadwacht' and that comes together with its period ID-document (ie. 'Ausweis') as issued and stored for decades. The neat armband (ie. 'Armbinde') is executed in the 'thicker-styled' (linnen-based) fabric and was intended for usage by the various assistant police-members (ie. 'Stadtwächter o. Hilfspolizeibeamter') during the war. The armband which shows the neatly printed, black-coloured text on beige/white-coloured- and/or linnen-based cloth comes in a full-length condition and measures (folded) approximately 44 x 8,5 cms. The piece shows - as more often - a reddish-coloured ink-stamp (ie. 'Dienstsiegel') that shows the text: 'Der Polizeipräsident - Strassburg' and does show some some wear and/or slight staining simply caused by storage and/or fair wear (as can be noticed on the pictures). Of additional interest is, moreover, the fact that this example was found with its period ID-document (ie. 'Ausweis') and accompanying ('Mica'-based) storage-casing (ie. 'Hülle'). This document ie. card was issued on 1-10-1943 and measures only 10,5 x 7,5 cms. and certifies that its bearer (a certain: 'Stadtwachtmann' named: Anton Wilhelm born in 1894) is entitled to wear this armband and may also carry a weapon. Both 'Ausweis' and 'Armband' were obviously intended for usage within the town of Strassburg. Simply a very interesting - matching and complete! - 'Stadtwächter o. Hilfspolizeibeamter'-related insignia/ID-document-set that is in my opinion with certainty accordingly priced!
