Jobson confirmed wounded-in-action in Korea on 24 April 1951, at the Battle of Imjin River while serving with 1st Battalion Royal Northumberland Fusiliers.Battle of the Imjin River, St Georges Day, 24 April 1951: 'All-Ranks' of 1st Battalion Royal Northumberland Fusiliers wore red and white roses on their caps when they closed for battle with the Chinese enemy, on the very date of the annual regimental day of the Northumberland's- General Service Medal 1918-62. GVI 2nd issue with clasp 'Malaya' (22319240 Pte. E. Jobson, Green Howards)- Korea Medal (22319240 RFN. E. Jobson, R.U.R.)- United Nations: U.N. Service Medal with clasp 'Korea'The recipient is wrongly shown as having the forename initial 'D' under the nominal list of R.N.F. in the long list of 'Far East Casualties' published (without showing actual date of casualty) in the 'The Times' newspaper issue of 2 May 1951. The Regimental Journal of the R.N.F. - 'Saint Georges Gazette' (1951) records the casualty correctly as 'E' Jobson, and shows actual date of casualty as 24 April 1951Numerous 'all volunteer' drafts from British Army infantry regiments not present in Korea, were posted to British infantry battalions serving in the Korea theatre of war throughout the duration of the conflict 1950-53.
