Description

The recipient was an Indian soldier of Marathi ethnicity and the Hindu Faith, who held the rank of Sub-Assistant-Surgeon (Ranked as Jemadar) while serving with the Bombay Division of the Indian Medical Department of the British Indian ArmyIndian Army Lists record that Shriang was born on 2 March 1877 and first entered the service of the Bombay Presidency Army of the generic British Indian Army on 3 September 1900. In the seniority service rolls of the I.S.M.D. he held the departmental number 253. He held the appointment of Sub-Assistant-Surgeon 2nd Class in the Indian Subordinate Medical Department (Bombay Division) from 16 April 1906.
