The recipient No.1762 Kartar Singh was an Indian Soldier of the Sikh faith who held the non-commissioned-officer rank of Lance-Daffadar (Corporal) while serving with the 6th King Edward's Own Cavalry, a mounted regiment of the British Indian ArmMedal Verification: Only one soldier of the entire Indian Army and or the British Army in India with regimental number 1762, was awarded a 1911 issue of the Delhi Durbar Medal.
