US Indian War-SAW M1874 Meatcan, RIA Marked

Original period manuracture. First general issue meatcan or messkit issued to the US Army (can't really count the M1872 contraption) which saw use in new and improved versions up through the Vietnam War, that's over 100 years. Gray finished steel body with a movable handle which is US proofed on its end and RIA proofed on the handle body. The surface nowdisplays a peppering of surface corrosion but is quite sound, no holes or major dents.
