London Gazette was published in the New Years Honours List published in the London Gazette under date. 1 January 1974'The News' newspaper issue of 10 January 1974, contained he below information pertaining to the recipient:Quote,IN THE LISTThe following awards to personnel or ex-personnel announced in the New Years Honours List at Coningsby:-'British Empire Medal, Acting Warrant Officer K.V. Kean, formerly No. 41 Sqn., now RAF Swanton Morley.Unquote.The recipients unique Royal Air Force service number is from the block 4017000-4029999 that was allocated and numbers issued sequentially at RAF Cardington for 'Regular Enlistments Non ATC' from December 1946 through January1948.Note: On 21 March 1945 RAF Cardington was transferred from Balloon Command to Technical Training. On 1st August 1946, the station came under the responsibility of Number 22 GroupThe medal mounted in the swing-style and as-worn by the recipient.
