Description
German Iron Cross First Class 1939- Excellent marked example. Reverse is marked number '4' on the pin indicating that it was produced by the firm of Steinhauer & Lück. Nicely toned silver frame, and black paint is intact and in great shape. The reverse is beautifully toned, showing just enough wear to show that this badge was actually worn by the owner. There is a rugged block hinge, coke bottle shaped pin and round wire catch. A great example of this desirable award.History: The German 'Iron Cross of 1914' was a military decoration awarded to soldiers during World War I, originally established by King Frederick William III of Prussia in 1813 as a recognition for bravery in battle.
