Austrian WWI Emperor Karl Field Cap Insignia

Original era manufacture. Gray finished, stamp steel cap insignia, as worn on the field caps of the Austrian army in WWI. It bears the letter K, for Karl 1st, Emperor upon the death of Franz-Joseph in 1916. Karl abdicated the throne in 1918, and died in poverty in 1922. Both mounting pins are intact, very fine condition.
