Original Third Reich Reich Leaders' Hewer (Führer Dolch) by Gottlieb HammesfahrThis authentic Third Reich Leaders' Hewer by Gottlieb Hammesfahr of Solingen is a rare and highly sought-after edged weapon, typically associated with high-ranking officials in the Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD, or Reich Labor Service) or other elite paramilitary during the Third Reich era.Blade:The high-quality, nickel-plated steel blade is etched with the RAD motto:'Arbeit adelt' ('Labor ennobles').Marked with the Gottlieb Hammesfahr logo, which shows a pyramid-and-crossed-tools symbol with the name and 'Solingen-Foche' beneath.Grip & Pommel:The ivory colored grip plates are nice, but there is a small chipin the rear handle grip.RAD eagle emblem inlaid into the grip (a spade with a swastika inside a gearwheel). The eagle head pommel is nicely detailed.Hilt and Crossguard:The silver-plated fittings on the hilt and crossguard with detailed engraving and oak leaf motifs remain sharp.Scabbard:The engraved details on the heavy steel scabbard remain sharp.
