Original German WWII 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger By F.W. Höller With Hanger And PortepeeThis is a fine example of the M1937 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger (Fliegerdolch), produced by the well-known Solingen makerF.W. Höller. The piece comes complete with its original hanger and silver portepee, both of which show appropriate age and are believed to be original to the dagger.Blade:The blade is in very good to excellent condition overall, showing some areas of gray spotting and minor surface rust from long-term storage. It retains its original profile, edge, comes to a nice point with no signs of abuse. The reverse is clearly etched with the maker's mark:F.W. Höller, Solingen.Scabbard:The scabbard is straight and structurally sound, with minor plating loss and some surface rust visible. The throat screws are intact and undisturbed. The aluminum scabbard bands remain in very good condition, and they match the crossguard and pommel nicely in both tone and patina.Fittings & Grip:The aluminum crossguard and pommel are well-preserved and sharply detailed, showing only light wear consistent with age. The orange trylon grip is in excellent condition, retaining its deep color and complete with the original double twisted silver wire wrap, which remains tightly in place.Hanger & Portepee:The dagger comes with its original Luftwaffe hanger, which shows honest age and slight wear to the fabric and fittings but remains fully functional. Also included is a silver Luftwaffe portepee, which displays some fraying and wear from age, but is intact and presents well.
