Unissued Original 2nd Pattern Tropical Heer Brown Felt Pith Helmet Size 57-This is an unissued, original German WWII 2nd Pattern Tropical Heer Pith Helmet, most commonly associated with the Afrika Korps and designed for use in the intense heat and sun of the North African campaign.Constructed from olive brown felt with matching trim, this helmet remains in exceptional, mint condition. It features a strong olive green leather chinstrap and an interior leather liner band clearly marked with the manufacturer logo 'JHS,' size '57,' and dated 1942.There is minor mothing on the felt band on one side and a small moth nip on the top of the dome, but overall, the helmet presents beautifully. It is adorned with the correct zinc/aluminum Heer eagle shield on the left and a Tri-color national shield on the right—both firmly affixed and retaining excellent detail.A rare, well-preserved example of a tropical pith helmet, perfect for any advanced WWII collection.
