Description
Original German WWII M42 Heer/Waffen SS No Decal Helmet Marked hkp64-This M42 helmet retains approximately 90% of its original dark field-gray textured combat paint, with scattered areas of surface rust from field use. It features a complete pigskin leather liner, which is quite stiff and would benefit from careful conditioning. One of the rear leather fingers has a small tear. The original drawstring is still present, though it is fragile and broken in one spot—this break is minimal and not easily noticed. All three split pins are intact, with most of their original paint remaining. One pin has a noticeable amount of paint loss. The interior rim bears very faint but legible markings, identifying it as an 'hkp64' shell. The 'hkp' maker code indicates the helmet was manufactured by Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke (SE), Lauter, Germany, a well-known helmet producer during WWII.The original chinstrap is present, unmarked, and slightly dry. It shows light wear and age but remains in good overall condition.Overall, this is a solid example of a combat-used M42 helmet in good to very good condition.
