While there are minor scratches and some paint loss on the split pins, these imperfections do not detract from the helmet's overall well-preserved appearance.The original leather liner is fully intact, supple, and in excellent condition, complete with its original drawstring. The liner is marked size '60,' confirming its authenticity. Very faint but legible markings on the interior rim indicate the shell was produced by Emaillierwerk Fulda (EF), in size 68, with a slightly visible lot number.The chinstrap is no longer present.Overall, this is a well-preserved and highly desirable M42 no-decal combat helmet—ideal for collectors and historians with an interest in original Heer or Waffen-SS field gear from the Second World War.
