Original German WWII Heer M40 Single Decal SE64-This original M40 single decal helmet was manufactured by Sächsische Emaillier- und Stanzwerke (SE) and is a desirable size 64. It retains approximately 90% of its factory-applied dark field-gray textured paint, with light surface wear, minor scratches, and some spots of surface rust from age and use. The split pins also retain a good amount of their original factory paint, though a couple exhibit minor chipping or flaking.The Heer national eagle decal is approximately 85% intact, with typical flaking often seen on SE-produced helmets—especially Kriegsmarine examples—likely due to the original application process or decal composition.The original leather liner is complete and remains securely in place. It has developed a rich dark brown patina from use and is marked size 56 on one of the rear liner fingers. It includes the original drawstring. The original chinstrap is still present, is properly period, and is nicely maker-marked and dated 1941.Overall, this is an excellent, all-original example of a wartime-issued Heer M40 helmet—well-preserved and highly collectible
