Large Size British Army Issued GS MK 6 Combat Helmet with DPM Camo Cover - dated 1987

Here on offer is a British Army issued GS MK 6 large combat helmet dated 1987, with a Disruptive Pattern Material (DPM) camo cover, that still retains its elastic strapping.The Mk 6 was issued to the British military in 1986. They were known to be used in Northern Ireland and the Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield.The helmet was manufactured by N.P. Aerospace of Coventry and is reported to have an 'almost unlimited service life' by the manufacturer.The Mk 6 is often mistakenly thought to be made out of Kevlar when in fact it is constructed of Ballistic Nylon.This example is in excellent condition and retains its webbing chin strap with metal popper fastener.Inside is a label with all the details regarding the helmet, including the following:Helmet CombatGS Mk 6Year 1987Size LargeNato Stock number 8415-99-132-6007Serial No. 173457Batch 6/334N.P.
