Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland NMBI 1956 silver badge

A scarce original mid 20th century Irish 'Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland silver gilt pin badge'; green enamel laurel wreath depicting 'Saint Brigid's Cross' to voided centre, resting on torse with 'An Bord Altranais' blue enamel title scroll; the reverse impressed with Dublin silver hallmarks for 1956, maker's details 'J.M.Co' (Jewellery & Metal Manufacturing Co Ltd Dublin) and official registration number 'A 14782'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, additional ring to secure a safety chain, no damage to the enamel, an excellent example.Height approx 25mm.
