Original German WWII Kuban Shield Uniform Removed-This rare and authenticKuban Shieldis magnetic and exhibits a bold, high-relief design. At the top, a German national eagle with outstretched wings clutches a swastika, flanked by the date '1943.' Below, the word 'Kuban' appears prominently on a horizontal bar, with the lower portion depicting a stylized defensive line and the place names'Lagunen,' 'Krymskaja,'and'Nuworo-ssijsk.'Constructed fromwashed bronze, the shield remains invery good condition, with light wear on the raised features. It is mounted onHeer field-gray woolwith a magnetic metal backing plate and is held in place bythreeof the original four prongs. There is no paper backing, though remnants are still visible, along with holes and thread marks indicating it was once sewn onto a uniform and later removed.There are no visible manufacturer markings.
