It's characterized byswivel (or movable) chinstrap loops, a design improvement over the earlierfixed baleversion.This is an authentic WWII U.S. M1 helmet featuring a swivel bale design. The steel shell retains it's original paint and textured finish. It is fitted with a period web chinstrap in solid, functional condition, showing light, age-appropriate wear.Overall, this is a well-preserved example of a WWII M1 helmet assembly, ideal for collectors, reenactors, or historical display.The included liner, manufactured by MSA (Mine Safety Appliance Company), has some original paint and scuffing on the exterior. Unfortunately the liner is cracked on one side along the edge. Refer to photos for details.Sweatband: Damaged and cracked in several areas. Marked 'Vogt' for Vogt Manufacturing Corp.Fixed webbing for the neckband: Intact, but has some damage.Leather Chinstrap: Intact, original wartime and marked United Carr. Leather is supple.
