Dan-Air Services gold bullion airline wing uniform badge c1953 to 1992

A scarce original early post 1953 period 'Dan Air British Airline uniform badge'; embroidered gold bullion wing lettering on black felt backing, the padded velvet centre bearing a six vertical red and white striped flag ending in a swallowtail; the reverse with paper covered black hessian lining. Very good used condition.Width approx 102mm.Dan-Air began commercial air services in the UK in May 1953 with the aircraft it had taken over from Meredith Air Transport, a single Douglas DC-3. It was acquired by British Airways in 1992.
