Carcano Retainer Bushing For M91 and M38 Cavalry Carbine Models

THESE ARE FOR THE CARCANO 'CAVALRY CARBINE' MODEL RIFLES WITH THE FOLDING 'SPIKE BAYONET'.MODELS M91 AND M38.This is the part which retains the spring and nut for the release button assembly. See pictures.This piece is often missing or damaged despite it having been fitted tightly as a non removable component. This is a frequent problem with surplus.Made from high Carbon steel to close tolerances. The seating diameter has been machined just slightly smaller than the original samples that we measured, approximately 0.0005' smaller. This should allow for easier installation while still providing a decent fit. This would have been a press fitted component which makes it that much stranger that they seem to go missing so often.TO INSTALL- Clean areas where this seats and ensure there are no dents or other damage or dirt which would prevent this from seating flush. It should be a light press fit or a close slip fit. If it seems a little loose we recommend applying a small amount of adhesive to the seating face to help secure it or simply finish installing the spring and nut as those will trap it in place.For a full hardware set, see this listing.
