Description

A good original Edward VIII souvenir cupro-nickel medal, produced for the proposed Coronation in 1937 that never took place. The obverse with uncrowned bust right and title 'H.M.King Edward VIII'. The reverse with 'British Made' and embossed with the City of London Arms 'Ascended Throne 20th Jan 1936' scroll below and inscribed 'To Commemorate The Coronation of King Edward VIII at Westminster Abbey May 12th 1937'. Good condition, complete with original red, white and blue silk ribbon and safety pin fitting minor wear and surface scratches.Diameter approx 38mm.
