Excellent Imperial Japanese Navy Rear Admiral service uniform ensemble, set of blouse and trousers made of matching finely ribbed dark blue fabric, the blouse has a standing collar fastened with two sets of hooks and eyes, the front is held closed with 9 further sets of hooks and eyes, the upper collar edge, front closure and skirt hems are edged with black woven tape, the rear skirt is vented at either side, the collar has the rank tabs for Rear Admiral and an additional loose pair of the same rank are in the pocket, there are pockets at either hip without pocket flaps, the three row ribbon bar mounted on aluminum is held with three badge loops (ribbon bar did not originate with the uniform set), each lower sleeve has machine applied dark rank tapes, garment is lined with black rayon and there are two internal breast pockets plus a small vertically positioned breast pocket, with woven Tokyo-based tailor and name labels at the inner collar, the staff aiguillette is fastened to the inner shoulder and suspended with a small hook to the coat's front, its box is included; the matching straight legged trousers have a small watch pocket, two vertical hip pockets and one rear buttoned pocket with flap, there are belt loops at the outer waist and a tightening strap with buckle at the rear, buttons marked For Gentlemen are positioned at the outer waist for wear with braces, smaller versions of these buttons are sewn at the fly, pocket bags are white cotton, inner waistband is striped rayon, leg ends are cuffed; the leather belt and buckle set belonged to another officer are named on the reverse of the leather tab at the buckle's rear, the gilt finished connecting buckle is functional as are the snap hooks for suspension of sword, keepers are present and the entire ensemble shows normal service use, there is some minor light staining to the trousers, otherwise the uniform set is bright, clean and without damage, per the consignor it is possible that the uniform set belonged to Rear Admiral Akira Matsuzaki who was as of 15 April 1943, Chief of Staff of the Southern Expeditionary Fleet (please past the URL below); beautiful set, USD $4600 NEW PRICEhttps://m.ww2db.com/doc.php?q=84
