Original German WWII M35 Heer (Army) Ex-Double Decal Wood Chipped Camouflaged Helmet NS62This is an original German M35 steel helmet that was originally issued as a double-decal Heer (Army) model. As the war progressed and regulations changed, the decals were removed or painted over in accordance with regulations.The helmet features a period-applied wood chipped camouflage finish, a texture consisting of mixed paint and embedded wood shavings to break up the helmet's smooth finish.The helmet features a period-applied 'wood chipped' camouflage finish, consisting of dark fieldgray paint mixed with wood shavings to help break up the helmet's silhouette in combat. The camouflage shows excellent, age-appropriate wear and patina,particularly on the dome of the helmet, contributing to its authentic combat-used appearance.Stamped NS62, this helmet was manufactured by Vereinigte Deutsche Nikelwerke (NS) in size 62. The shell remains solid with no major dents or cracks.It retains its factory installedaluminum reinforced liner, dated1938and size54, complete with its well worn, supple leather that has taken on a rich, dark brown patina from use. The split pins are original to the helmet and, while slightly loose from wear, still retain their original washers.The helmet is also fitted with a pre-war chinstrap featuring aluminum hardware. The long strap is broken at the end, but most of it remains intact and appears original to the helmet.This is a highly collectible M35 Heer helmet in very good condition with period wood chipped camouflage, perfect for any serious WWII collection.
