Large grouping pertaining to Heer Ritterkreuzträger Oberstleutnant Helmut Haeuseler, Haeuseler was commander of Grenadier-Regiment 399 and was awarded the RK on 14 Feb. '45, he was also a recipient of the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold and the Ehrenblattspange des Heeres, the grouping consists of three photo albums, loose photos and correspondence and loose insignia, two of the photo albums are from the pre war period and depict friends, landscapes, important German cities, officers and men, vehicles, training, maneuvers and so on, many photos are captioned and include maps and other drawings, there are many shots of mounted personnel, mascots, flags on parade and the like, the wartime album was dedicated to Haeuseler at Christmas '44 as commander of Gren.Ers.u.Ausb.Btl.12, the cover of the album has a metal oakleaf with engraved legend (loose) and contains many photos of facilities, officers, men being decorated, sports events and such, there are dozens of loose photos depicting similar subjects plus one of Haeuseler's calling cards, finally there are dozens of pieces of correspondence written by Haeuseler to his mother, most of these during the mid to late war period, insignia includes collar patches and three pairs of shoulder boards removed from service blouses, a very interesting and large lot too complex to adequately describe in this small space, imminently worthy of further study, USD $1950 WITHDRAWN
