Sold
$265.00

Description

Original era manufacture. A very sound example of the classic French steel helmet of WWI.  Infantry plate on the front with a postwar applied brass visor decoration honoring the veterans service during the war 1914-1918. The helmet is complete with its original liner but missing its chinstrap, showing some light scattered denting to the shell, with light surface corrosion mixed with paint. The brass visor decoration is secured on each side by a small steel rivet, displays the French veterans name, Suval, Andre. Old shoe lace tied to one of the chinstrap bales, likely the suspension strap for display at some time in the past.
