Marvelous set of documents relating to Waffen SS Ritterkreuzträger Erhard Mösslacher, includes original award documents for DRL sports badge (including uniform photo as Unterscharführer), EKII (signed by Hausser) and EKI, Ostfront campaign medal, Eastern Peoples medal of merit 1st class (signed by Fegelein), Nahkampfspange in bronze and silver plus four promotion documents including two from the SS Junkerschule Braunschweig and two others written on the embossed letterhead of the Reichsführer-SS, in addition, there are news paper clipping and copies related to the award of the Knights Cross plus pages from the Illustrierter Beobachter from September 1943 with a photo of Mösslacher with an SS enlisted man, also included is a letter to Mösslacher's parents and brother from late 1944 as well as correspondence between Mösslacher's family and the DRK and Austrian authorities concerning the circumstances of Mösslacher's death, the whereabouts of his remains and so on, there is an affidavit regarding Mösslacher's promotion and award of Knight's Cross in 1945, included also are map and photos of the Budadörs military cemetery near Budapest to include several photos of the memorial tablet with Mösslacher's name, birth and death dates, a photocopy of what is believed to be Mösslacher's personnel record is included, finally there are approximately 50 photos including Mösslacher, comrades, family and at the front, certain photos show Mösslacher as an enlisted man, marching with steel helmet and 98k, as NCO, as officer with SS dagger, several wearing Waffen SS black Panzer uniform, wearing Nahkampfspange, with other officers, etc., one can clearly detect the effects of combat on Mösslacher's face, Mösslacher rose quickly in the ranks from simple SS-Mann to Hauptsturmführer, as the commander of the 6th Squadron, 16th SS Cavalry Regiment, he was only 24 years old at the time of his death and was awarded the Knight's Cross just prior to be being killed in action near Budapest in February 1945, all material is included in a thick binder, it was only possible to show a small portion of the materials here, those seriously interested should inquire to info@virtualgrenadier.com, USD $12,500 WITHDRAWN
