Luftwaffe M38 single decal tan and green sprayed camouflaged Fallschirmjäger helmet, KIA, spanner bolt single decal helmet which was sprayed with a dark olive yellow camouflage layer, atop that were sprayed a few desultory swatches of medium green paint, the bolts all have a large degree of their camouflaged finish, the Luftwaffe eagle decal was painted over but much can still be seen, especially the swastika, the shell exhibits a number of scratches and chips, external paint coverage is estimated at 90% or better, inside the shell stamped ET68, lot number 719, over the decades since the war, the saturated leather liner disintegrated leaving a desiccated remnant with its chinstrap, a ring of leather where liner was attached to the felt ring and rubber pads still remains while the rest is gone, the chinstrap is complete with slides and snap but the leather has withered and lacks its former suppleness, the inner shell's rubber cushion is still in place, the zinc liner bands, the chinstrap portions attached to them and the bolts have not been interfered with, additional details about the helmet's history will be shared with the new owner, USD $11,250 SOLD
