Interesting M16 tri color camouflaged helmet with potential Freikorps insignia, having the factory green finish over painted with large angular camouflage sections in dark green, red brown and deep ochre colors separated by black painted bars, a non mobile swastika was subsequently painted to the helmet's front and covers both the camo colors as well as the black bars in this area, the camouflage finish has scratches and scuffs and in areas the base factory paint is visible, the top of the helmet shows the most wear, the liner pins are tight, shell is stamped T.J.66 (C. Thiel & SΓΆhne, LΓΌbeck), the inner dome appears to be stamped 1405, having a leather liner band and with two of the three liner sections remaining, these are both stiff and are missing their tips, the liner pads are absent, the leather chinstrap with buckle is present, it is a bit dry and appears to be fragile, appealing, USD $1950 SOLD
