Description

Original era manufacture. A nice grouping with a large amount of paperwork, pertaining to the story of one Louis Robert Damiens, late of the 24th Regiment of the Line, who died of wounds received in October of 1914.The lot includes his Medaille Militaire, 1914-1918 reverse Croix de Guerre, the original document for the awarding of the Medaille Militaire in 1923, and a portion of a French newspaper dated 1964. In addition several internet documents are also included regarding the battle history of the  24th in the early years of WWI, and another giving details of Damiens.While not shown, the Croix de Guerre is included. A nice little grouping with excellent research potential.
