Set of A-2 Flight Jacket, Shirt and Books for a B-24 pilot from the 531st of the 380th Bomb Group in the 5th Air Force, all items are associated with one pilot, brown leather flight jacket with two lower flapped patch pockets, brown colored knitted waist band and cuffs, with a brass hook and eye at the throat and a functional zipper with TALON marked pull, jacket is lined in pale orange colored cotton, it has a leather hanging loop and woven maker's and size tag with machine sewn leather rank and name tag and machine embroidered unit patch depicting Donald Duck with a bomb standing on a cloud, the accompanying olive drab colored wool shirt has two patch chest pockets and adjustable sleeves, it has a maker's tag at the inner collar, with USAAF winged propeller and Captain rank bar are pinned to the collar, includes a book about the history of the 380th Bomb Group 'The Flying Circus', pilot is named on page 183, he is also listed on page 30 of the separate 380th Bomb Group Association book, jacket with wear and age and a few small holes to the knitted sections, the shirt is worn and soiled, especially the skirt where there are a few small holes, there is also a small damaged area to the rear collar edge, very interesting group, the unit was engaged in the Pacific theater, paste URL below for more information, USD $3500 SOLDhttp://380th.org/380-History.html
