Imperial Japanese Naval Landing Force's helmet with camouflage cover and netting, named inside to Issei Ono, with inscription 'Favourable wind...take the laws as shown', the red brown leather liner's kanji is applied in black, two of the three liner sections have their pads, the third's pad tie has the black ink kanji, the leather has a small stamp with anchor, liner drawstring is present, the chin ties are colored off white and have a woven HBT pattern, internally the shipboard blue painted shell has spots of faded paint with rust patina, careful examination reveals that the shell's external surface has a wash of green over paint and that the anchor badge is still in place, the tan colored ribbed cotton cover is made of six sections joined at the top, it is held into place over the helmet's rim with a knotted drawstring, to the cover's front is machine straight stitched a cloth anchor badge, the anchor itself is machine sewn to the badge, one small section of the anchor badge's stitching is undone, over the cover is a knotted mesh natural jute net, the top of the net is formed into a circular pattern, entire ensemble with service wear, soiling and age, there are a couple of rust spots to the cover but no holes, fantastic item, USD $3400 SOLD
