Description

Imperial Japanese Army helmet with camouflage cover and netting, helmet has light olive colored cotton cover which is made of six triangular shaped sections joined at the top, a faded yellow wool star sewn to an olive colored wool circle is machine sewn to the front of the cover, a pale red colored dot is painted to either side of the star, the cover has numerous small brownish spots plus a few blackish scuff to the fabric, there are a couple of tears to the cover's rear that have been period repaired with white thread, fitted over the cover is light tan colored net and it extends over the helmet's rim and is knotted into place, there are no gaps in the net although it looks as if a couple of broken strands were tied back into place long ago, helmet with olive brown painted finish, the steel star can be felt by hand under the cover, kanji applied to rear inner rim in white paint, having three section leather liner with drawstring, one section still has its pads, webbed chin ties have some rust stains and are a bit frayed in spots, neat looking service used piece, USD $2900 SOLD
