Mint boxed 1939-45 Star & 1939-45 War MedalThe box is addressed to-MR.J.McKAY.3 DERBY STREETDUNDEE.John McKAY was born in Dundee 24-3-1894 & served with the R.F.A during WW1. He reenlisted in to the auxiliary military pioneer corps 10-4-1940 and went to serve in France. He was captured and taken prisoner of war at the fall of France 28-5-1940 whilst stationed at Boulogne. He became P.O.W number 14140 and was held at Stalag VIIIB Lamsdorf. He spent the duration of the war in captivity & was finally discharged 18-10-1945 age 52.Complete with the recipients soldiers class A release book, enlistment papers, six assorted photographs, red cross letter & two postwar newspaper cuttings that mention the recipient.Medals N.E.F & Paperwork that shows signs of both use & age
