2nd type military M.B.E, 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Italy Star, 1939-45 War Medal, 1937 Coronation Medal & GVR crowned head efficiency medal with Territorial Suspender.To- 2558805.SJT.W.S.BODYS.R.SIGNALS.William Stewart Body's was a long serving senior N.C.O with the Royal Corps of Signals & was awarded the efficiency medal in army order 162 of 1935 & is entitled to the 2nd award clasp which was published in army order 234 of 1944. He was awarded the 1937 coronation medal as a WO.CL.2 & went on to be commissioned in to his own unit in 1940 & was awarded the military M.B.E for services in the Middle East in the London gazette 14-10-1943 with the following recommendationLieut Bodys has served as T.M.O with 4 L of C Signals & Eight army signals for over two years in the Western Desert during all the campaigns. His technical ability and long untiring hours of work, often under almost impossible conditions, have maintained the technical instruments & M.T at rear army HQ. Sub areas, and signal sections, throughout this period. He has commanded his technical maintenance section during this time, and inspired them with his spirit of devotion to duty so that M.T vehicles and signal instruments have given service for longer periods than was thought possible, but had this not been done there were times when, owing to shortage of materials, communications would have broken down.NEF/GVF & swing mounted as worn.
