US Civil War Philadelphia Depot Bullseye Canteen, Complete

Original era manufacture. A Philadelphia Depot canteen bearing the makers name 'J.Hall Rohrman Philad' on the spout which were produced under contract in August of 1863, and February 1864.The brown wool-jean cloth cover shows scattered wear but is quite sound for its age, with its original linen shoulder strap intact. The original cork stopper is in place, still secured with a length of old string.This canteen comes with copies of an auction sales sheet dating to November of 2008, when a well known Civil War collector's estate was sold.
