WWII Japanese Tankers Helmet-This is a scarce example that is produced in brown leather. These were worn by members of the Imperial Japanese Army that we assigned as tank crews. The leather helmets were an early variation made for winter use. The brown leather exterior cover has a few areas of wear, some crazing and wear through on the skirt. Someone scraped off the leather IJA star but the 'base' is still present. The side flaps are very soft and all of the buttons are still present as are the chinstrap and its loop. The neck covering has wear and is torn. Both the rabbit fur and the cheesecloth lining show a lot of wear inside but it is still in decent, serviceable condition. The liner pads are only partially intact. There are some kanji stamps on the upper dome.A scarce item in sound condition overall.
