Second Model SS Fez-This interesting piece of headgear is produced in dark red wool that is in excellent condition. It is very clean and has only very slight tracking in a few spots. The fez was worn by certain ethnic groups assisting the SS in the war effort. The red versions were worn with the dress and parade uniform. The pig's tail is red wool as well, and the black rayon tassels are present. The tassels are not stitched and stitched down to the cap but at one point they were and you can still see the stitches. The front of the cap has a machine woven BeVo SS eagle in a silver/grey cloth on a black background. The totenkopf is of like construction and color. Both have been applied to the cap with a black cloth thread. The unlined interior is in great condition with the black leather sweatband mostly missing, just a small piece is present. This is a size 56. Near excellent!
