Allgemeine SS Officer Upgrade Visor Cap-This is a period, textbook officer upgrade from an other ranks visor cap. This includes the black velvet center band, the officer style silver bullion chin cord and the pebbled metal buttons for the same. The body is black tricot woven wool that is in great condition, having extremely minor wear only. The white piping seen around the underside of the top panel as well as at the upper and lower edges of the black badge cloth center band is fully intact. There are a few areas where the center band doesn't fit perfectly at the piping but this is minor and not much of a distraction. The insignia is cupal and darkly toned with most of the nickel silver finish missing. The black vulkanfibre visor has lots of crazing but it remains very clean and still has a glossy finish. The underside is lightly crosshatched, finished in an orange brown hue and has the RZM black ink stamp. There is a minor amount of tracking/moth nips just above the visor on the right side as worn. The top panel of the interior is lined in orange brown oil cloth. There is minor wear/staining to the lining. The gold stenciled SS runes are present and intact. The size is stamped in gold, 59. The moisture shield is fully intact. The sweatband is orange brown leather and has minor wear only. It is soft and supple. The underside is ink stamped with maker info, the date 1940 and more. This has a black oil cloth RZM tag under the sweatband as well. This indicates that the maker is number 195, Heinrich Wille. A very nice example!
