Description
Probably one of , if not, THE RAREST Adrian helmets from the Great War !The French Government supplied their famous Adrian helmets to many foreign governments and organisations ,one of the very rarest contacts of helmets were those supplied to the Army of Serbia . This is in all respects a textbook factory helmet fitted with the Serbian specific frontal plate insignia . The plate/badge has the correct low profile fit and level of detail ,being made in a quite thin and and tight fitting stamping . All paint finish is factory applied and an exact match between badge and shell .There is an excellent and mellow patina with a few areas of rubbing ,chipping and light well oxidized dark russet rust .The liner system is the rarer one piece type in a brown sheepskin hide .There are two alloy spacers to each temple area with a good tight fitting dark blue wool headband and no broken fitting blades . The chinstrap is good and supple with verdigris to the brass rivet . An exceptionally rare item of WW1 headgear .
