RAF No 617 Squadron The Dambusters Royal Air Force Badge H.W.Miller

A rare original George VI circa 1940's period 'RAF No 617 Squadron gilt and enamel badge', depicting the bursting of a dam, in commemoration of 'Operation Chastise', bearing French motto 'Apres Moi Le Deluge' (After me the flood), the reverse with maker's details 'H.W.Miller Ltd Branston St. B'Ham.18'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no defects to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.Height approx 33mm.
