The Officers and certain senior NCO's could choose to purchase their footwear from the armed forces clothing depots or to privately purchase footwear of higher quality. This is a nice quality privately purchased pair of, tall, brown leather boots (Hohe Stiefel) as worn by members of political organisations like the SA or NSDAP, or by a Luftwaffe officer. The boots are not visible maker marked. The leather is still supple. These boots date from the pre-WW2 period and are perfect for a political display.
